Saturday Beer Review: Shipyard Imperial Porter (Pugsley’s Signature Series)

This is a fantastic beer. The color is dark brown, almost opaque, with a hint of copper. The head is creamy and tan, lingering an appropriate amount of time. The aroma is malty with hints of caramel and toffee.
Medium-bodied and slightly chewy on the tongue. Great balance of malts, very flavorful, robust without being overwhelming. It’s a bit more carbonated than most porters, which gives it a lighter feel. Sweet, but not overly so. An exceptional beer.
