Very solid and sustained head that’s off-white (almost beige) with medium-sized bubbles. Slight suggstion of legs. The color is dark brown/ruby and almost opaque.
Hops is slightly dominant in aroma, which is slightly tart and citrusy. Mouthful is really nice, viscous and full-bodied.
The taste is nicely balanced, unlike some black IPAs I’ve tried. It’s not overhopped with just the right amount of bitterness, particularly noticeable as an aftertaste. Nicely complex with hints of fresh cut grass (not something I eat often but the taste reminded me of the smell, if that makes sense) and citrus.
This is the best of the black IPAs I’ve tried so far.
