This is one of my favorite dry stouts. The color is perfect, almost black and only by holding it up to a very bright light could I see into it, and then to pick up some very subtle ruby shading.
It has the ideal dry stout head, tan-colored, creamy and long-lasting. Aroma is slightly burned coffee and chocolate.
For a beer with such a creamy head, the mouthfeel is slightly less creamy than I expected. It’s still quite nice, medium-bodied. This extends into the taste, similarly medium-bodied. Dry, sharp and slightly bitter with some interesting lingering aftertones, almost coffee-like.
A truly excellent beer!
